An Evening of Experimental Middle Eastern Dance was a collection of twelve dance pieces produced by eight different companies at the Electric Lodge Theatre in Venice, California. This was an interesting project for me. After a year of working mostly in television, this was my first dance show in Los Angeles. With twelve different pieces there was a need to create as many different looks, and early on I ran into challenges. Although the space was small, only about 20’ X 30’ I felt the need for more than the 24 dimmers available in the space.
